SUMMARY:

The qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Manager/Supervisor in the planning, scheduling and completion of all tasks related to the Stock room department. Ensures quality and safety practices are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with production planners, production assistants and/or supervision to ensure timely completion of production picks
  • Enforces safety rules and conducts safety inspections of area of responsibility.
  • Assigns specific tasks to employees
  • Recommends improvements to process/procedure, layout, safety, etc.
  • Monitors efficiency and measures against standards
  • Takes action as needed in order to resolve issues so that production goals are met
  • Responsible for 5S
  • Provides feedback to supervision in relation to employees' safety habits, productivity, and adherence to shop rules
  • KPI data
  • Follows visual and written work instructions, and suggests improvements where necessary
  • Performs cycle counting of parts and material handling duties as prescribed by Supervisor
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

YEARS EXPERIENCE/LEVEL OF EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred,
  • Minimum one to three years of related experience in a manufacturing facility

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
  • Track record of positive attendance
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Low level project management experience a plus
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Must be highly self-motivated, customer centric with proven leadership ability
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload
  • Operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment
  • Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary, including weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • Work is accomplished in a moderately clean plant environment
  • The production floor does not have a cooling system
  • The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with manufacturing process
  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil and/or fumes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
  • Frequent lifting and pushing of up to 50 lbs., repetitive motion, occasional lifting and pushing up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, work overhead with arms, and sit or stand for several hours at a time
  • Eye/hand coordination required, with steady and agile hands to operate equipment and tools
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules
