SUMMARY:

The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for mechanical engineering and providing guidance/direction to a team of Engineers to the successful completion of projects. Assists in design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs, develops, analyzes, documents and supports testing of products, systems or subsystems
  • Provides guidance/direction to team of Engineers & Designers from Interns to Senior level
  • Implements designs successful in meeting technical, cost, weight and manufacturability requirements
  • Possesses a good mixture of analytical skills and hands-on abilities
  • Estimates own work, and sanity checks supporting team members' estimates
  • Reports progress and status in a concise manner
  • Available for limited travel as needed
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering program; Master's degree in Engineering and/or PE license preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • FEA analysis experience in ANSYS or similar software preferred
  • Solid Modeling experience in Siemens NX is preferred
  • Product Data Management experience in Teamcenter or similar data management system is preferred
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience in an engineering environment including experience leading Engineering personnel
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses high attention to detail
  • Possess strong skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
