So, what will you be doing all day? You would join us as a Mechanical Designer/Engineer working on things like…
- Performs advanced calculations and designs engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
- Lead design from concept to substantial completion.
- Conducts research and asks questions when performing unfamiliar tasks.
- Prepares basic to advanced system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
- Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment. Evaluates products for their application.
- Assists with developing, establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers in support of business development and/or pursuit activities.
- Mentoring and training junior level engineers.
- Assisting in the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications) for new buildings, and for renovations and additions to existing facilities as needed.
- Providing coordination of project designs with other disciplines.
- Communicating effectively with clients and being an outward facing member of the design team.
- Traveling to in and out of state project sites on an as needed basis.
- Sets up and coordinates efforts of other mechanical engineers working on same project to complete tasks.
- Coordinates with the project manager on staffing needs and issues for projects.
- Actively coordinates the design with other disciplines working on the project.

- Have a degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Possess at least 7-10+ years of experience in mechanical design on commercial building projects.
- Have experience in the sports or aviation industry (preferred) or a variety of other commercial type projects.
- Have a PE license (preferred).
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards required, as well as a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit required.
- Are experienced communicating with external clients and customers.
- Enjoy training and mentoring mechanical staff.
- Have advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the A&E industry, building mechanical and energy codes, and standards relating to a broad range of practice, project, or program types.
- Possess excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Have the ability to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining quality design.
- Have an interest in aviation.
- Inquisitive and a curiosity to learn.
- Knowledge/ Understanding of programming languages, such as python or C++ are encouraged but not required.
