Henderson Engineers is seeking Designers who will be responsible for supporting the design of building systems, preparing technical documents, and providing general day to day design support under direct supervision and with a heavy focus on learning and development. We have 13 Offices Nationwide but are currently taking New Graduates in the below locations:
- Kansas City, MO
- Lenexa, KS
- Dallas, TX
- Bentonville, Arkansas
Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (ie: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) or 2 years of experience without degree.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Relevant internship experience.
- Exposure to engineering design fundamentals; fundamental knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards. Knowledge may be applicable to a limited range of practice, project or program types.
- Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
- High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment and in group projects.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback and adjust to coaching.
Skills & Duties you will be Responsible for in this role:
- Prepares design documents under the supervision of experienced engineering and design staff.
- Supports the review of shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
- Assists with engineering calculations as directed.
- May support business development or pursuit activities under direct supervision.
- Occasionally participates in client, company and/or industry events.
- Fosters a client-centric mindset and approach.
- Partners with experienced engineering and design staff to understand client requirements and scope of work.
- Acts as a liaison to inform engineering and design teams of client and architect questions and relays responses.
- May visit job sites for observation and learning and development opportunities.
- Identifies and seeks to fill gaps in industry and/or discipline knowledge on a continuous basis.
- Acquires knowledge and fundamentals of common industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products.
- Research and reviews new products, industry trends and evolving codes and standards, asking questions as needed to ensure understanding and potential for application opportunities.
