Description

Hobby Lobby has an outstanding opportunity for an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator located at its corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK. 

The storage administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining our data storage environments, safeguarding data backups, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing ongoing recommendations and best practices to the team.  This technology includes the various NAS, SAN and DAS environments and all other technologies classified as storage technology.

Responsibilities of the Storage Administrator:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of enterprise data storage environments
  • Execute and maintain enterprise backup and data protection technologies
  • Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and software
  • Implement baseline storage design procedures, based on industry standards and best practices
  • Interface and consult with application, database, server, and other technology teams on architecture, and solution selection, to ensure appropriate storage technology and configuration
  • Display strong organizational skills to adjust and prioritize tasks in a continually changing work environment
  • Contribute clear and concise documentation for both routine and irregular tasks
  • Contributes technical assistance and advice on complex activities such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore operations for all systems 
  • Perform code updates and security patching to maintain the health of storage systems.
  • Apply general knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems concepts to effectively interact with various platforms


Requirements

  • General knowledge of data storage or related field(s)
  • Demonstrated experience in virtualization solutions 
  • Hands on experience working with hardware {Servers, LAN/SAN Switches, storage, etc.}
  • Grasp of current and next generation data protection technologies
  • Familiarity with NAS concepts and protocols (CIFS, NFS, and S3)
  • OS system Administration Skills (both Linux and Windows)
  • VMWare concepts and administration

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and persistence in completing assigned work
  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects

  • Hands-on experience with production hardware life-cycle management
  • Extensive troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills
  • Acts independently under general direction
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a related discipline desired (a combination of training, work experience and education may be considered)
