Kelly Services is seeking an experienced 2nd shift Production Supervisor in Maywood, IL.

This is a Direct Hire, Permanent position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for creating a high performing operational environment
with a team that is focused, motivated, and inspired to achieve team objectives. The Production
Manager is accountable for developing a high performing team, overseeing all plant operations in a location, and ensuring on-time delivery of products that exceed our customer expectations, service and quality standards, and positions as the leader and best in our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Actively works with the Sales and Service teams conducting plant tours, setting appropriate expectations, resolving quality issues, etc. to ensure client is positioned to grow and retain business
  • Creates an environment that allows client to sustain a highly motivated, engaged, and diverse workforce where partners feel supported and want to do their best work.
  • Creates, promotes, and sustains a culture of world class safety. Ensures production department operates in compliance with internal corporate audit requirements and all
corporate policies. Ensures the organization's safety, health and environmental systems and protocols are implemented in the production department. Successfully implements and maintains all aspects of the safety scorecard and the fatality prevention program. Engages partners in safety and ergonomic improvements helping to eliminate injuries. Participates in monthly Safety Improvement Committee (SIC) meetings and leads by example as a location leader in safety and health.
  • Creates and communicates the vision and strategies that will lead to long-term growth
and organizational success.
  • Collaborates with General Manager and all other department leaders to ensure the
production team is working toward shared location goals and achieving key performance indicators while supporting all company and location visionary efforts. Develops personal relationships with key stakeholders to provide them with the necessary resources to service and exceed customer expectations. Maintains positive lines of communication with the location Service team, Branch leadership, and SSRs through effective execution of key initiatives and programs, weekly/monthly participation in service meetings, Production leadership quarterly route rides, weekly calls, and quarterly Branch visits to include Production Manager and Supervisors.
  • Effectively attracts and retains talented supervisors and hourly production staff.
  • Maintains a fully staffed team of talented diverse partners that ensure customer satisfaction and business objectives are achieved. Builds a high performing production team by ensuring that the team is focused, motivated, and inspired to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Oversees and manages the performance expectations of all partners within the team. Ensures all performance reviews are on time and provide feedback and coaching that will allow partners to grow and develop. Holds partners consistently accountable.
  • Provides individualized coaching and feedback to partners specific to leadership competency development to always ensure an adequate bench of talented supervisors.
  • Works in concert with the Group Engineer to oversee all location capital expenditure
projects. Ensures compliance with all local city, county, state, provincial, & federal regulations surrounding water treatment, waste disposal & environmental regulations & reporting. Follows up on and ensures maintenance staff is on task with repairs, preventative maintenance, projects, and budgetary items. Accountable for all building and equipment maintenance and outside property care.
  • Ensures quality standards are maintained in alignment with customer expectations and
product is consistently upgraded through proper planning and budgeting monthly.
  • Creates and works within a budget. Consistently reviews the WOR, income
statement and general ledger and adjust as necessary to meet financial objectives. Effectively manages all key inputs to ensure appropriate inventory levels of product are always maintained. Manages the standard product line for the location.

Skills/Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts with variable schedules
