Investment Accountant
Location: Farmington CT
Hybrid work schedule – onsite 3 days a week/2 work from home.
First week of the month is 100% work from home.
Salary $75000-125000 plus bonuses - salary depends on education and years of experience.

Exciting opportunity for an Investment Accountant to join client's team. This role involves managing monthly investment accounting, book close, account reconciliation and analysis, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reports. The successful candidate will handle transaction processing and cash reconciliation, meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly investment report packages for STAT, GAAP, IFRS, and other bases.
  • Prepare statutory quarterly and annual Schedule D regulatory reports and GAAP financial and footnote packages
  • Perform daily account reconciliations with custodial and/or external manager records, including cash, trades, income, and dividends.
  • Communicate with clients and custodians to clarify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Understand and maintain the client's general ledger structure.
  • Develop and implement efficient procedures to enhance accuracy and workflow.
  • Respond to client inquiries, auditor queries, and special reporting requests promptly.
  • Assist in developing new procedures to improve department workflow.
  • Maintain monthly performance results of clients' portfolios.
  • Collaborate with other team members to support department goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting required.
  • CPA desired but not required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (Vlookup, macros, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
  • Experience with SQL report writing is desired.
