Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist

About Us:
Dynamic company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join their team. This role is integral to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of our financial transactions and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers and vendors.

Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and send invoices to customers for products or services rendered.
  • Record and track incoming payments, ensuring accuracy.
  • Follow up with customers on overdue payments and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy.
  • Review accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers regarding their accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status to management.
Accounts Payable:
  • Receive, review, and process invoices from suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure invoices are approved for payment and adhere to company policies.
  • Prepare and schedule payments to suppliers, taking advantage of discounts when applicable.
  • Maintain communication with vendors to address payment inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts payable records with supplier statements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Generate and present regular reports on accounts payable status to management.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process by recording accounts payable transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal accounting policies.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (finance or accounting degree preferred).
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Office 365, Teams, and Adobe.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Costpoint, Government Accounting, ERP systems, and Salesforce a plus.
