AP Specialist
Sterling Heights, MI
Salary: $55-$60k
8-5 Monday-Friday

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all aspects of payables in an electronic payment environment from auditing, to vouching and payments. 

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Review and audit invoices to contracts, resolve invoice discrepancies, and enter invoices into QuickBooks.
• Process Weekly/Monthly payment runs along with other requested payments (PayPal/Zelle/ACH/Wire).
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Create and post month end accruals.
• Recommend improvement of processes through automation.
• Document policies and procedures.
• Readily available for internal and external audits for various agencies.
• Assist in the month end closing process including preparation of applicable journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Year End 1099 Auditing & Reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail & problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
• QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Applications, and Purchase Order Systems.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a multi-company organization.
• AP Specialist with experience in purchasing desirable.
