This role involves close collaboration with supply planning, procurement, and distribution teams to align production plans with company objectives, particularly focused on inventory management and minimizing obsolescence.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the purchasing cycle from goods reception to final payment, ensuring continuous availability of quality materials and components.
Release purchase orders based on anticipated demand to maintain uninterrupted material flow.
Coordinate with suppliers, communicating changes promptly and accurately.
Monitor and maintain accuracy of open purchase orders and records.
Expedite orders to minimize lead time shortfalls and meet customer expectations.
Conduct proactive communication with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Monitor on-time delivery and contribute to improvement initiatives.
Conduct daily reviews of shortage and expedite reports to maintain inventory levels.
Follow up with vendors to resolve delivery exceptions promptly.
Assist Materials Manager in maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Utilize ERP and SCM systems effectively for order rescheduling and reporting.
Manage vendor relationships, including pre-qualification and performance evaluation.
Participate in supplier performance evaluations and negotiations.
Requirements for Success:
Proficiency in ERP and SCM systems.
Strong understanding of lean and Just-in-Time management principles.
Ability to calculate inventory requirements using various models.
Comfort with computer systems and attention to detail.
Analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Accountability and professionalism in all interactions.
Strong work ethic with organizational and time management skills.
Willingness to adapt to changing demands and participate in continuous learning.
