POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are seeking a dedicated Cell Line Development Technician to join our team, focusing on the generation of stable cell lines for vaccine and therapeutic protein candidates, including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and virus-like particles. The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Biological Sciences with at least four years of relevant work experience. This role involves independently culturing mammalian cells, transfecting, selecting, cloning, and generating stable pools for transient protein production. The successful candidate will also participate in cell line development platform design, perform small-scale process development studies, provide laboratory support, and oversee maintenance of core laboratory equipment. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing technical reports and SOPs, maintaining comprehensive documentation records to support regulatory filings, and regularly communicating progress to the project lead. 

 

TASKS. The contractor shall: 

  • Contribute to stable cell line generation for vaccine and therapeutic protein candidates. 

  • Independently culture, transfect, select, and clone mammalian cells using aseptic technique. 

  • Generate stable pools and perform transient protein production for reagent-grade material supply. 

  • Prepare plasmid DNA using standard molecular cloning techniques. 

  • Participate in cell line development platform design and optimization studies. 

  • Perform small-scale process development studies and provide support for medium preparation and supply ordering. 

  • Oversee maintenance and support for core laboratory equipment, including training team members and performing routine maintenance. 

  • Write and review technical reports and SOPs for cell line development processes and instrumentation. 

  • Maintain detailed documentation records for regulatory filings. 

  • Communicate progress and present work to the cell line development team. 

 

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 

  • B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. 

  • Hands-on experience with aseptic technique and mammalian cell culture. 

  • Familiarity with cell line engineering technologies like cell counting, high-throughput transfection, single-cell cloning, and flow cytometry. 

  • Experience in writing technical reports, SOPs, and preparing data presentations. 

  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and effectively communicate with team members. 

  • Proficiency in computer software for word processing, data analysis (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Prism, FlowJo). 

  • Experience in monoclonal antibody and/or vaccine production is preferred.
