Job Title: Certified Paint Technician
Shift: 2nd shift
Pay rate: $29hr
Duration: Temp to Hire
Location: Ridgeville, SC

Responsibilities:
 

  • Prep, paint, and polish bodies to be shipped to assembly and /or ready cardy to be shipped to customers.
  • Adhere to painting standards such as: inspect, detect, classify, and determine correct painting procedure for the repair.
  • Must possess broad knowledge of paint, chemical, and coating procedure.
  • Basic hand and power tool familiarity.
  • Prepare the workplace for daily activities and keep 5s standards.
  • Perform visual inspection for completeness and proper execution of standards and record completion into ATACQ system.
  • Monitor production flow and minimize repair WIP.

Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Must be willing to work daily OT and weekends as situation arises.
  • Must be willing to working during shutdown days, and holidays or as the need arises.
  • Must demonstrate painting expertise through educational background or experience.
  • Light paint touch-up/finesse expertise.
  • Paint shop experience preferred.
  • Previous automotive paint experience and paint shop experience are highly desired.

Special Qualifications:
  • ASE Certification, Trade School Certification, or Certification from a Paint Supplier (e.g., PPG) or at least 3 years of verifiable paint experience in a documented paint & body shop.
  • 3 years of experience with paint booths utilizing a down draft system.
  • Certified or 3 years of experience in mixing paint.
  • Documented training or 3 years of experience in environmental and safety protocols involving chemical disposal of paint-related materials.

Team Member Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must have been in the current position for at least 90 days. Exceptions require approval from the current department director and the People Experience Director.
  • Must not be on a Performance Improvement Plan or have received a corrective action of a written warning or greater within the last 12 months.
  • Must meet the basic qualifications as stated in the job posting.
  • Transfer opportunities may be suspended based on business needs.
