Continuous Improvement Engineer
Chattanooga, TN – Onsite
Direct Hire
$80,000-$90,000

Kelly Engineering is recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our client in Chattanooga, TN. As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and implementing solutions to field and warranty issues. Utilizing your expertise in SolidWorks, 3D design, MS Office, and advanced spreadsheet usage, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop fact-based solutions and lead cost reduction efforts. Your mechanical engineering skillsets, hydraulic knowledge, and understanding of electrical circuits will be crucial in deciphering schematics and devising effective solutions. In addition to collaborating with various departments, you will also assist with custom designs and provide engineering support as needed.

Responsibilities:

Lead cross-functional teams to develop solutions for field and warranty issues.
Collaborate with product support teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues.
Work with Quality Improvement teams to contain field quality issues in production.
Determine testing requirements for cost reduction projects and lead the QIT team in developing such projects.
Assist with custom designs and provide engineering support to other departments.
Produce test reports and communicate data, conclusions, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience in a Mechanical engineering role.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D design, MS Office, and advanced spreadsheet usage.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to sudden changes in project priorities.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
Capacity to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues on the shop floor.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and bills of material.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
