Position: Environmental Compliance Specialist
Type: Contract (6 Months)
Shift: Day Shift, M-F
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid)
Hourly Pay Range: $38 to $45/hour (Based on Experience)

Kelly Engineering is actively seeking a Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our client, a leader in the medical device industry. The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for global, cross-functional expertise, guidance, and governance to environmental regulatory requirements to ensure assays and instruments are in adherence to applicable U.S and international environmental stewardship requirements. This role can build a world-class Environmental Compliance program.

This position is part of the Quality Department and will be required to work 3 days per week onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, in a Hybrid role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create and maintain safety data sheets in accordance with GHS and country specific requirements for Client's assay products and reagents.
  • Administer the Environment Compliance program to demonstrate compliance to Chemical Regulations (REACH, RoHS, WEEE, GHS, PFAS, POPs, TSCA, and Prop 65).
  • Assist in the development of product environmental compliance strategies incorporating best industry practices to ensure compliance for instrument and assay products.
  • Build working relationships with cross functional teams including Development, Supply Chain, Program Management, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, etc. to ensure process solutions are compliant, efficient, and adaptable to business units, functions, and sites throughout the world
  • Monitor, interpret and report status on existing and emerging global requirements with potential to impact products, effectively communicate those product environmental compliance regulatory impacts within and assist in the development and implementation of new and/or modified strategies and business processes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 1-2+ years of functional experience
  • Possesses significant knowledge of Chemical Regulations; REACH, RoHS, WEEE, GHS, TSCA, POPs, PFAS and Prop 65 or strong knowledge of chemistry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Using LISAM software
  • Worked with Assent
