Kelly Science & Clinical is excited to bring you this opportunity! Lab Technician in Benicia, CA. 

• Schedule:1st 3-months (training): 9am to 5pm
• After Training: Night Shift (flexible hours)
• Salary: $22-28/hr. (DOE) + Shift Differential + Kelly Standard Benefits
• Full time/Temp/Hire

Job Description:

As a Lab Technician, you will join a team dedicated to providing cargo inspection and analytical assessment services to the petroleum, mining, minerals, and biofuels industries. Leveraging years of expertise, innovation, and advanced analytical capabilities, we help customers optimize returns on cargoes and resolve complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas.
• Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, quality control, and basic troubleshooting.
• Clean glassware and test equipment.
• Prepare reagents as needed.
• Record data on appropriate data sheets and report data to the LIMS system.
• Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.
• Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
• Participate in cross-training as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prefer successful completion of at least one semester of college-level chemistry and/or prior work experience in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to multi-task in high production testing areas.
• Good math and observation skills.
• Proficiency in using LIMS applications and established chemistry lab processes.
• Excellent team communication, coordination, and cooperation skills.
• Ability to follow standard and non-standard procedures.
• Ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation.
• Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.
• Ability to regularly lift/carry up to 44 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally lift/carry up to 49 pounds.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Exposure to various chemicals.
