Laboratory Technician- Montvale, NJ 07645

 

The Product Development Technician leads the planning, executing and documenting of laboratory activities including but not limited to competitive analysis, raw material analysis, test method development, sample preparation and supervision of temporary laboratory workers. The technician role will support all laboratory activities across product lines.  Product categories include but are not limited to baby, toddler, facial, personal care, hand and EPA products including floor, surface, etc.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 

Sample preparation:

a. Makes and tests product samples for customers

b. Prepares prototype products for clinical studies

 

Product Development:

a. Tests new Wet Wipe prototypes and raw materials in support of the R&D team

b. Conducts laboratory tests as directed by supervisor with minimal supervision

c. Comprehends test protocols and test methods. May input into test method design

d. Records and reports data accurately, follows protocols and reports any errors and anomalies

e. Writes reports and summarizes test data

Competitive analysis:

a. Evaluates competitor products. Prepares analysis on competitive products.

 

 

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

1. Completes sample requests on time and accurately.

2. Creates effective test methods that are repeatable and reproducible for evaluating product performance and attributes.

3. Summarizes data and communicates findings accurately.

4. Completes reports on time and accurately.

5. Performs competitive analysis on time and accurately.

6. Works safely in the lab and follows GLP.

7. Escalates issues and problems to manager.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BS Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Chemical Engineering or related field

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Computer literate, Outlook, Word, Excel

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Relevant experience in nonwovens, formulations, packaging is desirable.

SKILLS/ABILITIES: • Written and verbal communication skills

• Team player, Adaptable learner•
