Logistics Production Forklift Driver – Ringwood, IL

Kelly Project Services, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Logistics Production Forklift Driver for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Ringwood, IL.  This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position.   As a KellyOCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from.   You'll also be eligible for paid time off, including holiday and paid time off.  All Kelly Project Services, employees receive annual performance reviews. 

Title: Logistics Production Forklift Driver
Location: Ringwood (60072)
Pay: $22 hr; plus benefits and PTO
Hours: Training will consist of 2-4 months of working 8hrs (Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm) while in training. Once certified, will work 12-hr shifts with a 3-2-2 rotating schedule (working week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday; week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday) Week 1 and 2 would repeat.

Job Responsibilities:

  • At start of shift get shift change notes and tracking sheets from the previous shift. Obtain a radio with a charged battery
  • Do a forklift inspection report on the truck you will be using.
  • See if there are any empty containers or garbage to be hauled away if time permits. Haul away any junk skids you see lying around to the storage area. Do general housekeeping in all areas that you travel throughout the day
  • Check to see if there are any transfer orders, blend tickets, or material request sheets hanging up on any clipboards in all posting areas.
  • Drivers must do rounds every 30 mins
  • Record transfers on Finished Goods Tracking Sheets for T.O.'s and Blend Tickets
  • Band or secure material if unsecured from the line.
  • Record transfers on White Tracking Sheet for Raw Material Put away. Re-weigh material if required
  • Check out rows for production areas for raw materials to be restocked
  • Check for finished goods to be put away and tracked
  • Consolidate and straighten rows in warehouses
  • Hazardous Waste drums that are DOT closed (torque specs), dated and labeled need to be hauled away to the Hazardous Pad ASAP (within 24 hrs of staging).
  • Be prepared to move the Hazmat skid in lower 36 for emergency situations. This skid is oversized so take it the outside route to get as close to the needed area as possible.
  • Completing paperwork daily material movements in a timely manner. Each physical movement of material has an appropriate movement in the SAP system.
  • Place all completed paperwork in Production driver's file cabinet
  • Handoff any open runs or shift notes to the next driver at shift change
  • Reporting any LOPC's, issues with inventory or other incidents that arise to the LAC or Logistics Clerk, or SAC's on shift.
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements        
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • High school diploma, equivalent, or a satisfactory work record is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
  • Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills.
  • Fork Truck operation training will be provided.
Physical Requirements:
  • With mechanic assist, must be able to manually move 50 pound drums after proper PHYSICAL training.
  • Must be able to manually lift and handle a nominal weight of 25kgs (55lbs).
  • Ability to wear various types of respirators (cartridge, fresh air, or self-contained).  Facial hair around the sealing surface of the respirator is not allowed.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and operate process equipment.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, such as pliers, screwdrivers, and scrapers.
  • Required to stand up to 90% of working day with frequent walking, intermittent stopping and bending while operating equipment, drumming, etc.
  • Must be able to tolerate periodic hot, inside working conditions or cold outside conditions.
  • Have no known sensitivity or history of skin or respiratory allergies to dust, dirt, or chemicals to which there may be workplace exposure if an allergic reaction could create a safety or health hazard.
  • Must be able to wear required protective clothing & equipment.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts both manual, (pallet jacks), and sit-down riders.
