Kelly Professional & Industrial® is seeking motivated, hardworking individuals to work as a Machine Operator / Process Operator to operate and monitor machines used in the production of products for a premier manufacturing client in Morris Plains, NJ 07950.

Machine Operator / Process Operator

Schedule: 6:00am - 6:30pm

Rotating shifts:

Team A- for the 1st week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Team A for the 2nd week- Sunday, Monday and Tuesday

Team B- For the 1st week- Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Team B for the 2nd week- Wednesday, Thursday, And Friday

Shifts: 12.5 hours (e.g. 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM) 
• Sundays will NOT be regularly scheduled work days but may be scheduled as a workday if business needs dictate.

This schedule is not intended to be permanent. The leadership team will periodically reevaluate the needs of the business and make adjustments as necessary. As long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place temporary staff should expect a non-standard shift schedule.


PAY RATE: 17.00 - 22.00 PER HOUR
Pay Rate is based on Experience
 

Responsible for multi machine operation including Gallus printing presses, slitting equipment, blister machine and label applicator, Accryply Machine.


Machines they will use are:
1) Label applicator machine
2) Narrow web printing machine
3) Form, fill and seal machine
4) narrow web slitting machine

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, a qualified individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily either with or without reasonable accommodation. The responsibilities described below are routine in nature, executed under moderate supervision and require limited judgement.

  • Operate and monitor machines used in the production of product
  • Perform setup, testing and assembly of products using equipment as specified
  • Effectively plans and utilizes time and resources to meet business needs and achieve business objectives
  • Inspects product for defects, identifies and properly marks any non-conforming material in accordance with work instructions
  • Ensure product assembly meets production requirements (both quality and quantity)
  • Proper identification and physical movement of raw, in-process and finished goods materials to and from storage locations
  • Perform material transactions in ERP of raw, in process and finished goods materials used in production processes.
  • Work with outside vendors for purchase of operating supplies.
  • Maintain inventory of operating supplies including screens, plates and other pre-press supplies.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counting activities as directed
  • Daily setup, operation and cleanup of equipment operated.
  • Maintains and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains work area organization and documentation to satisfy ISO and GMP standards
  • Maintains good communication and working relationships with all departments and effectively functions within a team environment
  • Exhibits professional etiquette that exemplifies the values of the organization
  • Support Research and Development activities, including participation in product/process development trials, carrying out new types of raw material and product characterization/performance testing and use of experimental materials

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, procedure manuals and MSDS sheets.  
  • Must have sufficient English reading, writing and speaking skills to review work instructions and communicate effectively throughout the organization.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic using units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals and convert measurement units to/from Imperial to Metric.
  • Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Ability to develop and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of light equipment operation in the performance of job responsibilities (such as: Forklift, Pallet Jack).
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  • Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex written and verbal information.
     

Computer Skills

  • Must be familiar with and be able to communicate via e-mail. Must be familiar with and be able to use computer software including word processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft products preferred).


 

Education and Experience:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of Production Line and GMP experience
