Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician - Biotech (S. San Francisco, CA)

We are proud to offer an exciting temp. opportunity to work as a Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician at an innovative, entrepreneurial and well-known Pharmaceutical company located in the South San Francisco. Temporary Assignment for 6 months (this role can extend up to 3 years)

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

Full-Time Role

Candidates must be flexible to work any shifts (day or night shifts), including weekends! Requires overtime as needed.

  • Shifts are 13 hour shifts, alternating 3 days and 4 days a week and can be either be day (7 am to 8 pm) or night shift (7 pm to 8 am). Flexibility is a must!

Job Responsibilities

Support the Shared Manufacturing Services SMS department by working effectively within the group to meet department goals, objectives and tasks to achieve the desired results. Responsible for completing assigned tasks. Work with Supervisor and Lead to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs. Follow department policies and adhere to Our Company's Good Document Practices. Support the SMS values of Execution, Unity, and Resilience.

Work Performed:

  • Inspect work area daily upon arrival and departure for proper safety and cGMP housekeeping.
  • Ensure GMP compliance and adherence to safety on the shift.
  • Complete assigned training in a timely manner.
  • Report any equipment problems to Lead/Supervisor immediately.
  • Complete assigned tasks in alignment with department needs.
  • Work closely with other shift personal and customers to meet department/ company goals.
  • Assist with safety and quality area surveys and audits.
  • Provide open candid feedback in department meetings.

Other Work Performed As Assigned:

Equipment Preparation:

  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks which include cleaning, sterilizing, and prepping glassware and parts used in the manufacturing environment.
  • Work with senior technicians and leads to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs.
  • Support the shift by completing required training in all areas of Equipment Preparation within the specified training curriculum.
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the shift towards meeting department goals.

Stock Solutions:

  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks, which include media preparation, filtration, sterile pipetting, CIP, SIP, and rigorous inventory management while working with an ERP system and an MES system.
  • Work with senior technicians and leads to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs.
  • Support the shift by completing required training in all areas of Stock Solutions within the specified training curriculum.
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the shift towards meeting department goals.

Preweigh:

  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks, which include sub-aliquoting powders and liquids into smaller containers while using an ERP system and MES system, obtain materials for manufacturing operations, and follow a production schedule.
  • Rigorous inventory management
  • Work with senior technicians and leads to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs.
  • Support the shift by completing required training in all areas of Preweigh within the specified training curriculum.
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the shift towards meeting department goals.

Education:

  • Minimum of a high school degree with some college-level course work in biological sciences, physical sciences and or related and at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • BA/BS in life/physical sciences or equivalent is highly desired!

Requirements:

  • This position requires working within a cGMP facility and the technician will be required to wear a plant dedicated uniform (polyester) and a full coverall (Tyvek – flashspun high-density polyethylene fibers) over the plant uniform. No makeup or nail polish is allowed when gowned.
  • Technician must be able to use hand sanitizer (alcohol), hair/beard covers, and be comfortable with working with and around powered industrial trucks (motorized pallet jacks).
  • Technician must have a high standard for safety and the highest level of attention to detail
  • Must possess good problem solving, mechanical aptitude, interpersonal communication and team skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong focus on quality, details and results.
  • Possess effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to be flexible in work assignments, work weekends, off shifts and overtime as required.
  • Possess proficiency in business applications including inventory control systems.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
