Description

Kelly Government Solutions is seeking a Mechanical/Soldering Technician to join our team in a dynamic laboratory setting. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting the design, development, and testing of new systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical assembly and soldering tasks following established procedures.
  • Utilize a microscope and various hand-held instruments for precise assembly of products.
  • Access work instructions, track timekeeping, and complete data entry using a computer.
  • Wear and maintain company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate effectively with teammates and support personnel from different departments.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance technical skills.
  • May be required to transport equipment up to 20 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks associated with assembly work.
  • (Optional) Work overtime occasionally during the week or weekends to meet customer demands. (Training will primarily occur during the first shift for several months.)
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Associate's Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant field, including:
    • Mechanical assembly and soldering
    • Utilizing a microscope, soldering iron, tweezers, screwdrivers, and torque wrenches.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an engineering environment, reading and interpreting engineering prints and schematics.
  • Understanding of Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) and reduction/prevention methods.
  • Experience handling Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) sensitive items.
  • Previous training and/or certifications in soldering, FOD, and ESD protection.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) assemblies.
  • Knowledge of aircraft or military quality requirements (a plus).
