Compliance & Labeling Analyst- Remote

Kelly Science is currently recruiting for several Compliance & Labeling Analyst with chain food company located in Austin, TX.  This role will collaborate with the Product Safety and Quality Analysts to support Quality and Product Safety testing development, documentation, execution and review for Exclusive Brands (EB) product development. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation, review, and editing of testing specifications for products supplied to COMPANY by domestic and international vendors, for EB food, beverage, supplement, body care and/ or household products. 
  • Manage day to day general communication with suppliers and internal COMPANY team to include follow-up on project correspondences and monitoring of project activity timelines and due dates. 
  • Work within Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) system daily to update product specifications and ensure accuracy of project activities and timelines. 
  • Proactively assist the Testing & Product Quality teams with prioritizing and completing project work according to established timelines. 
  • Provide technical assistance to vendors as needed to ensure testing relevancy, specification accuracy, and overall project success. 
  • Evaluate and summarize test results, technical document specifications, and other supporting documentation (e.g., shelf-life validations, technical literature, etc.) to support product testing development, product launch approval, and product maintenance.
  • Review product label art for adherence of claims and other product attributes to technical specifications.
  • Review pre-production testing and first production testing results for compliance with COMPANY internal requirements. 
  • Escalate out of specification results or significant vendor specification changes to a Product Safety and Quality Analyst for review.
  • Tracks and trends testing results and non-conformances using spreadsheets, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Quality Management Systems (QMS) as determined by current process.
  • Assist in Testing and Product Quality special projects, as needed.
  • May assist the Compliance and Nutrition Analyst with nutritional testing results review and interpretation. 
  • Ensure products are consistent with COMPANY core values, quality, and brand expectations. 
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience within retail, food manufacturing, or packaged goods industries is a plus.
  • Experience with creation, review, and editing of testing specifications and labeling for products is required
  • Experience with body care, supplements, food, pet food, paper, or household cleaning preferred.. 
  • B.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Ability to work effectively independently with minimal direct supervision, as well as within a cross functional team.
  • Excellent and proactive communication, written and verbal.
  • Excellent and detailed attention to technical data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver against rapid and changing timelines.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and know when to seek subject matter expert guidance.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Product Lifecycle Management database experience preferred. 
  • Experience with specialty, natural, and organic foods a plus.

  • $28-35 per hour; BOE
  • M-F; 8am-5pm
