Quality Assurance Specialist – Eau Claire

The Quality Assurance Specialist is the key Quality representative at daily and weekly Operational Review meetings.  This Quality Assurance Specialist drives continuous improvement, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) review and implementation, Internal Auditing, the Quality Monitoring System (QMS) review and implementation, Non-Conformance Investigations, Continuous Improvement support, and other quality tasks as needed throughout the facility.  

Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety/Quality representative at Operational Review meetings.  Coordinates investigations, determining root cause, corrective actions and preventative actions.  Conducts training for team members and completes QMS reviews.
     
  • Notifies appropriate personnel/management of deviations and non-conformances, communicating complaints as needed.  Serves as a contact for consumer complaint investigations, continuous improvement activities for prevention, detection and corrective actions from consumer feedback.  
     
  • Support Production and development of operators.  Promote quality awareness and commitment to quality through effective coaching of HACCP, QMS, and quality standards.
     
  • Support and update quality procedures, work instructions and tools as needed.    Collaboration with the Facility Quality Manager by supporting operational objectives.  Generates QMS that correlates to HACCP plans. Assess and ensure alignment with the Food Safety Specialist and HACCP teams between HACCP, QMS, E-Lrng, SOPs and FRMs.
     
  • Identify non-conformances and coordinate Quality/Food Safety risk analysis, lead/support investigations (GSTD), and disposition of product. Support Continuous Improvement program in the quest for zero defects. Support activities to achieve Quality Management System requirements and other instructions and standards.  
     
  • Support readiness for internal and external audits.  Conduct Internal Audits, including determination of findings and non-conformances for quality, food safety, operations, maintenance and other systems. Management of Change (MOC) implementation as needed.  
     
  • Providing support to other quality systems within the plant as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree (preferred microbiology, chemistry or food science).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related Quality experience (preferred in the food or pharma manufacturing industry)

  • Direct Hire
  • $75,000-83,000/year with additional annual bonuses
