Kelly Science has an Immediate Opening for a Quality Control Chemist for our growing client near Blue Island, IL

Full-time

Pay: $29-$34/hr

As a Quality Control Chemist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of quality for our products. This position offers a competitive salary of $29-$33 per hour and a unique work schedule with a rotation between day and night shifts every two months. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry preferred, but other related sciences considered with a minimum of 10 years working in a quality control laboratory/environment.
  • Understanding of classical wet chemistry methods and proficiency in standard QA instrumentation (GC/LC).
  • Familiarity with WebLIMS (or comparable laboratory software) and SAP.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) for effective collaboration with operations and management.
  • Ability to independently organize, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and organized with a keen attention to detail.

HSE Responsibilities: Join us in prioritizing safety and environmental stewardship. As part of our team, you will:

  • Know and fully comply with all corporate and site safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain the laboratory and office in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental and plant-wide safety meetings.
  • Represent Solvay through daily actions, demonstrating a personal commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound workplace.
  • Support our hazardous waste program related to the laboratory.
  • Actively participate in the site's behavioral-based safety program (SafeStart / SafeTrack).

Key Responsibilities: Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform raw material, intermediate, and finished product analysis using approved methods and entering results in WebLIMS.
  • Certify products for shipment through SAP.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and adjustment of laboratory equipment, ensuring uninterrupted operation and quality results.
  • Coordinate the operation of retain sample cabinets, assigning retain codes for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Participate in daily production Manufacturing Excellence whiteboard meetings.
  • Uphold quality standards to conform to ISO 9001 and EFfCI policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
