Research Associate, In-Vivo Pharmacology

$33+/hr Depending on experience

Contract to Hire

Schedule: 
Monday-Friday Day Shift

Overview:

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary scientific groups including discovery specialists and in vivo team members
  • Conduct pharmacology studies in animal models of metabolic, cardiovascular, and age-related disorders to evaluate therapeutic candidates through multiple readouts
  • Contribute to study design, planning and performing of in vivo studies related to early exploratory indications, tolerability, PK/PD, and therapeutic efficacy
  • Hands-on in vivo skills to perform standard procedures including rodent handling, blood collection, dosing through multiple routes (IV, IP, SC, PO), urine collection, necropsies, and tissue collection in compliance with approved IACUC protocols and AAALAC regulations
  • Experience in breeding, expanding animal colonies, and genotyping is preferred
  • Prepare facilities and sterilize instruments for animal procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of procedures performed on animals
  • Record in-life experimental data accurately and following approved company guidelines
  • Experience in assessing biomarkers (e.g. Luminex, Western blot, PCR, ELISA ) in animal tissues and cell extracts is preferred

Qualifications:
 
  • B.Sc or Ms with minimum 3 years lab experience
  • In vivo research: rodents handeling and basic manipulations and blood processing to serum and plasma
  • In vitro techniques: cell line expantion and cell culture under different treatment conditions
  • Molecular biology: RNA isolation and purification, qPCR
  • Biomarkers: ELISAs, WESTERN, protein extraction from cell cultures and animal tissues, Luminex-based multiplex platform (as a plus)
  • Collaborative and broad thinking
  • Familiarity with the basic lab software: Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, SoftMax Pro (as a plus), ELN for the record keeping
