Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a Technical Associate, R&D for a Long Term Contract opportunity in Wilmington, DE.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will assume a variety of responsibilities in support of the X-ray scattering and Microscopy groups within Client Analytical Sciences Laboratories located in Wilmington, DE. The candidate will work under the direction of technical staff to provide analytical support for R&D, TS&D and Manufacturing as needed.

Key job responsibilities include:
• Preparation of samples, reagents and standards for analysis, following standard procedures
• XRD data acquisition and assessing basic data quality
• X-ray tomography data acquisition and assessing basic data quality
• Electron microscopy data acquisition and assessing basic data quality
• Perform routine instrument operation
• Dispose of lab waste, following a set protocol
• Cleaning and restocking lab areas as needed.

Skills in sample preparation, safely handling chemicals, and experience with a variety of lab equipment in a chemical laboratory setting is essential to this position. An ability to work well with other people under tight timelines and conflicting priorities is critical.

Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in chemistry, materials science, physics, or engineering or demonstration of equivalent knowledge acquired in on-the-job training.

Candidate with prior experience in X-ray Science or Microscopy is highly preferred.
1-3 years industrial experience is preferred. New grad with prior experience in a scientific laboratory setting is also acceptable.
