Job Summary

The VP for Navy and Maritime Programs will be responsible for maintaining robust relationships with the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard as well as U.S. shipbuilders.   The VP, working closely with our senior leadership and business development team, will have primary responsibility to engage with Department of Defense, U.S. Navy, and Coast Guard leadership and organizations on priorities, program and capability requirements, budgets, acquisition strategies and sustainment support for both Leonardo DRS and Leonardo. The VP will collaborate closely with the business development team to develop opportunity pipelines and roadmaps across and maritime portfolio.  The VP will identify program opportunities, expand our footprint on existing programs, and assist with the formulation of market strategies to increase the Company's portfolio with the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and shipbuilders.  The VP will work in close collaboration with the VP International, as well as our international offices, to identify and action opportunities for international growth.  

Job Responsibilities

The position will report to the Senior Vice President for Business Development. 
•    The VP will build deep customer relationships and positive customer recognition with U.S. Navy and Coast Guard organizations as well as U.S. shipbuilders.  The VP will facilitate introductions, relationships, and meetings between these organizations and the Company.  
•    Working closely with the Leonardo and Leonardo DRS lines of business, the VP will develop opportunity pipelines and roadmaps.  As such, travel to facilities in the U.S., Italy, and U.K. will be required.  
•    Through close customer intimacy, the VP will research, analyze, and monitor the development of customer priorities, program requirements, budget formulation, acquisition strategy and program execution and report these activities to the business development team, and senior leaders as appropriate.   
•    The VP will advocate with key U.S. Government and industry customers on issues of importance to Leonardo and Leonardo DRS, and will identify the functional impact of program, budget and acquisition issues as appropriate.  
•    The VP will work in close collaboration with the VP International, as well as our international offices, to identify and action opportunities for international growth.  
•    This role will perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein as assigned by the Senior Vice President, Business Development. 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree preferred plus 15 years of relevant experience.
•    U.S. Navy or Coast Guard service strongly preferred, with a proven track record of success.  
•    Defense/aerospace industry experience preferred.  
•    An understanding of the Department of Defense programming and budget process, federal acquisition process and military operational requirements and systems capability determination. 
•    A robust network within the Company's Navy, Coast Guard and shipbuilding customers. 
•    Successful candidate may be subject to any background checks that Leonardo DRS may require for employment or government security clearance.
