Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a member of MaineHealth, seeks a full time psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our integrated team with Southern Maine Health Care in Kennebunk, Maine. The PMHNP will join the Pediatrics team to provide psychiatric consultation and care to help shape services for a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic. Educating the care team on psychiatric approaches to behavioral health conditions is an exciting part of the role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for treating children of all ages and youth adults with behavioral health disorders.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.

License/Certification: Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.

Experience: 2+ year of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital is preferred.

Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients

Individual supervision with an experienced provider and group supervision with other Maine Behavioral Healthcare providers within the Southern Maine Health Care region
