Overview
Real Time Payments (RTP) sits within Mastercard's Product and Engineering division. RTP services consist of; Instant Payment Service, Proxy Directory Service and Bulk Payment Service. The Methods & Playbooks (M&P) team is part of the Global Delivery Change Practice which provides delivery assurance, portfolio office and PMO capabilities across the suite of RTP services, as well as, setting delivery standards.
M&P act as a strategic partner and center of excellence for project management and continuous improvement. Areas of focus include;
• Establishing common standards to drive consistency and control, eliminating unnecessary risk and ensuring informed decision making, aligned to policy
• Creation of clear and auditable delivery processes that enable traceability and transparency across the RTP portfolio.
• Establishing defined roles and responsibilities to create clarity across the lifecycle, removing friction and enabling fast paced implementation
• Measurement and control of performance against defined standards to underpin successful execution and to inform continuous improvement
• Embedding clear governance & methodologies that align with business and product priorities and support global customer and product deliveries
• Producing comprehensive, accessible and user-friendly guides and supporting documentation for delivery methodology and processes
• Driving compliance with standards and enhancing quality through the Global Delivery Assurance Framework
The role of Delivery Assurance Director reports into the Methods & Playbooks (M&P) Director.

Main responsibilities include;
• Support development of the methods and playbooks assurance framework, driving maturity and evolving the capability.
• Evidence the value of L3 and L4 assurance through tracking and evidencing business outcomes.
• Deliver clear actionable reports and remediation plans to leadership to aid evidence-based decision making.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure that remediation plans have appropriate ownership. Escalating risks where owners have not been established.
• Establish and deliver against a rolling 12 month L3/L4 assurance plan, working with leadership to align priorities against available capacity.
• Feed lessons learned and delivery themes from assurance reviews into L1/L2 assurance, the M&P Director, and as appropriate the PM user group to inform focus areas.
• Work closely with the Change Practice lead, PMO Lead and M&P Director to drive quality improvement activity.
• Augment assurance capacity to meet demand through internal peer review/ assignment and leveraging of resource through unlocked.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by M&P Director. Closing gaps in standards, driving process improvements and defining new ways of working.
• Where required, lead change management activity related to L3/L4 delivery assurance including; training, comms, process enhancement and rollout.
• Present assurance findings to leadership, clearly communicating areas of focus and responding to questions and challenges with insights back by evidence.
• Own stakeholder engagement for assigned assurance reviews, ensuring stakeholder management plans are established for each assurance review and ensuring appropriate engagement of functional SME's (Risk, Finance, Internal audit etc.).

Level 3 assurance
• Support definition of the L3 delivery assurance framework, building on existing M&P assurance foundations.
• Align the assurance framework with industry or regulatory standards as well as internal risk, audit, finance, security and compliance requirements.
• Lead/support enhancements to build L3 assurance maturity and capability.
• Lead the execution of L3 assurance activities as assigned, working closely with the M&P Director to drive maximum business value.
• Create and maintain detailed assessment methodologies for reviewing initiatives the 8 assurance themes; 1. Client & Scope, 2. Risk, Issues & Dependencies, 3. Planning & Scheduling, 4. Organisational Capability, 5. Supplier Management, 6. Solution, 7. Governance & Process, 8. Finance
• Document and embed roles and responsibilities for L3 assurance review type (Full health check, interim health check, deep dive).
• Support development and maintenance of standard delivery assurance tools, templates and reports, building on existing practice.

Level 4 assurance
• As directed, procure, manage and build relationships with preferred supplier/s.
• Support definition and management of the L4 framework.
• On instruction from leadership, draft statements of work to initiate L4 assurance and complete related procurement activity.
• Onboard/offboard third party suppliers, providing oversight of day to activity for the duration of the engagement.
• Provide critical challenges to findings, ensuring quality and driving areas of enquiry.
• Manage supplier delivery performance against the defined statement of work, escalating any issues to the M&P Director.

All About You
• Significant demonstrated experience in delivery of assurance activities.
• Exceptional relationship management, influencing and written and oral communication skills
• Advanced understanding of delivery governance frameworks and methodologies, with ability to apply professional judgement and proven experience to solve complex issues.
• Ability to quickly understand, assess, simplify and articulate complex challenges/solutions.
• Experience of software and engineering practices and methodologies, including release planning and execution.
• Strong understanding of business operating model processes, interplay between functional teams in the value chain of a complex product/ technology and delivery environment, preferably within a real time payments or financial services setting.
• A strong communicator and influencer, able to successfully engage from project working group to c-suite.
• Knowledge of bid management and/or procurement processes is preferred.
