Overview

Are you an experienced data leader with hands on machine learning experience and with a passion for technological innovation, have a can-do attitude and strong sense of ownership? The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) platform is the perfect opportunity for you to assist in the design & development of a world-class unified platform, enabling Small and Medium Enterprises globally.

The SME team is looking for a Director Data Scientist to spearhead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and software engineers, to integrate machine learning solutions into our business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage data science teams in developing comprehensive and robust analytical solutions, leveraging Mastercard's extensive global data assets and advanced software platforms to deliver high-value results and insights.

• Consults with clients/ stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into a data analyses and/or solution, ensuring that their requirements are accurately captured and technically feasible.

• Liaises with internal stakeholders to identify and elaborate on opportunities as they relate to analytical solution development, feasibility, and other technical offerings.

• Leads development of client presentations, custom reports, data files, and technical documentation.

• Identifies and recommends opportunities to standardize and automate efforts to ensure quality and enable scaling of data analyses/ analytical solutions.

• Lead talent acquisition efforts and initiatives, facilitates training programs and conducts performance management for team of direct reports.

All about you

• Extensive hands-on expertise in Python or other relevant programming languages.
• Proficiency in statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling.
• Experience in visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar for complex data representation.
• Proficiency in big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex data insights effectively.
• Proven track record in leading and delivering successful data-centric projects.
• Eagerness to keep up with the latest advancements in data science and technology.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data processing and storage.
• In-depth knowledge of data security, privacy standards, and compliance regulations.
• Experience in Agile methodology, demonstrating adaptability and efficient, iterative development processes.
• Ability to lead effectively in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
