Title and Summary

Platform Engineer II Overview
The Global Provisioning Team is providing consumers with a single point of contact to request infrastructure changes, reduce hand-offs and SLA wait time.
The Platform Engineer II drives efficiency and provides value to our internal customers and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, is curious on how to improve processes and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.


Role
In this position, you will:
• Conduct necessary capacity planning to negate wait times for network switch procurements by implementing process bulk ordering and maintaining a switch inventory for new growth, tech refresh etc.
• Integrate network access switch provisioning into the Datacenter Engineering build timeline for all environments.
• Prepare high quality documentation.
• Work efficiently in a high security environment.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization and with external partners.

All About You
• Platform engineering expertise with exposure to two or more of the following areas: LAN, Routing and Switching technologies while adhering to standard design methodologies and best practices.
• Mastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing & subnetting, knowledgeable with IPV6 addressing.
• Knowledge of Cisco's product portfolio: routers, switches.
• Knowledge of Spine leaf architecture.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA required.
• Familiarity with scripting tools such as Python, Ansible and Automation to improve process efficiencies and remove errors due to manual inputs.
• Knowledge of Infoblox (inc. DHCP, DNS).
• Datacenter support experience including racking and cabling of IT equipment is a plus.
• Ability to follow process - Evaluate and propose process enhancements to drive efficiencies.
