Overview
The Cloud Operations team is looking for a Senior BizOps Engineer to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about the customer experience journey, highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of talented engineers responsible for a large high-availability infrastructure environment predominantly leveraging AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Linux, CI/CD, and other open-source technologies.
• Support daily operations with a hyper focus on triage, root cause by understanding the business impact of our products. Practice sustainable incident response and subsequently performing blameless postmortems.
• Take a holistic approach to problem solving, by connecting the dots during a production event through the various technology stack that makes up the platform, to optimize mean time to recover.
• Provide technical leadership in areas of expertise and/or supervise/mentor more junior team members in terms of best practices and Mastercard processes.
• Analyse ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback loop to infra and development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns.
• Create, review, and approve infrastructure documentation used in all aspects of IT infrastructure operations, including systems configuration, troubleshooting steps, how-to documentation, etc.
• Assess security of existing and proposed systems. Recommend and implement proactive plans to resolve vulnerabilities.
• Establish and recommend process, policies, and standards on system use and services. Innovate on new methodologies to improve operations.
• Learn and understand business processes and production applications to a level sufficient to troubleshoot issues and recommend and/or implement short and long-term resolutions.
• Coordinate with different internal groups to resolve recurrent problems, alerts, and follow-up on escalated issues and communicate clearly.
• Exhibit a sense of urgency to resolve issues and ensure SLAs and Operational standards are met.
• Create and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports and coordination with various team to get reports updated.

Required Skills:
• Strong analytical skills and a desire to learn new concepts and technologies and apply them. Strong attitude to take ownership and responsibility.
• Technically proficient in command-line Linux administration, performance optimization, auditing, cloud computing, shell scripting, automation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to manage time effectively, and manage multiple projects with varying levels of complexity, resources, deadlines, and cross-functional dependencies. Able to objectively prioritize work based on cost, benefit, risk, and organization expectations.
• Ability to remain open-minded and change opinions based on new information. Able to think conceptually, suggesting and following strategic architectural initiatives.
• Ability to complete tasks within a constrained schedule and budget and ensure functional goals are met.
• Ability to adapt to and prepare for emerging customer needs; juggle multiple initiatives; determine requirement urgency; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.
• Ability to clearly present information through spoken and written words; read and interpret complex information; talk with customers; listen well.
• Ability Able to develop rapport with others, both in the business function, and in technical roles. Stays up to date with new technologies, platforms, architectures, and concepts.
• Ability to recommend change when technologies or architectures are right for the organization.
Required Education/Experience:
• BSc/MSc IT/Comp, BCA, MCA, BE, BTech.
• 6-8 years systems administration experience
• 2-3 years of incident and problem management experience.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in open-source technologies: JBoss, Nginx, OpenResty, Apache, Tomcat, and others
• Experience managing core AWS products and services (e.g. VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, ELB, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Route 53)
• Experience on infrastructure and application performance monitoring tools.
• Experience on Configuration Management/Automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet etc)
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (Networking & Security, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing.)
• Experience in SSL Certificate management.
• Experience assessing and resolving security vulnerabilities.
• Good to have experience on Docker, Kubernetes, Packer, Terraform, GitLab, Vault
• Good to have PCI compliance and SOC audit related knowledge.
