Title and Summary

Senior Technical Program Manager • The Cryptographic Security Program consists of a global Mastercard team that designs, builds, and supports service platforms that provide cryptographic, key management and EMV certificate management functions utilized by global Mastercard application teams.
• Cryptographic Security has roadmap plans to re-architect legacy platforms and build new service-oriented platforms that are scalable, highly available, and built with continuous delivery implementations.
• The Technical Program Manager will work with the Key Management Portal (KMP) team, managing projects within the program where KMP co-works with other program teams to deliver large-scale solutions. They will work internally to facilitate the Scrum agile processes and drive the organisational lean-agile transformation.

Roles

As a Senior technical Program Manager at Mastercard, you are expected to carry out the following general duties:

Plan, execute, and deliver projects from inception to completion related to a known technology, product, or program. Describes and maintains the integrated plan that accounts for internal/external dependencies, differing delivery approaches, numerous constraints, and contingency for unplanned delays
Secure resources, scopes efforts, outlines priorities and establishes delivery milestones
Proactively manage the end-to-end delivery of engineering work through the organization and all dependent organizations, reporting out progress, ensuring dependencies are covered, overseeing the gaps between teams, processes, and systems, while removing all blocking issues leading to a successful delivery. Accelerates progress by driving crisp, timely decisions
Looked to as first point of contact for projects. Can communicate with more senior staff with confidence. Is the source of truth for status. Transforms raw thoughts into clear and concise communications. Provides right information and associated data about the state of the project to the right audience at the right time. Builds consensus and documents decisions.  Communications do not require interpretation/follow-up clarifications to understand. Runs effective meetings
Has experience in and understands industry technologies. Understands their program, product, or Technology domain. Sufficient depth/credibility to be effective with teams they work with. Can competently represent team's services to stakeholders and other teams. May need to bring developers or SMEs to meetings to talk details
Program strategy defined. Delivers independently but will occasionally seek direction from peers/managers
Nurtures good working relationships with engineers, managers, and peers
Optimizes previously defined approaches for a team or limited area. Can demonstrate improvements using data. Utilizes department mechanisms (i.e. retrospectives, staff meetings, status meetings) to describe and drive continuous improvements

Within the Cryptographic Security program, you are also responsible for:

Facilitating team Scrum ceremonies as Scrummaster across the distributed team's members (normal Dublin working hours) and compiling agile metrics to drive insights and actions across the team
Developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations in the context of complex dependencies within Mastercard shared services
Contributing to the development and execution of the overall program strategy and leading the team's involvement in SAFe agile planning across a number of closely inter-related and co-working teams.
Monitoring key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

All About You

Extensive experience managing enterprise software projects, and being able to fully learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems involved with your projects
Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different teams and with interlocking dependencies.
Scrummaster experience with distributed teams, ideally with certification. Experience with SAFe framework.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle multiple high-priority demands while driving consistent results
Collaborative, communicative and engaged with team discussions; asking questions, mentoring juniors, and raising standards.
