Title and Summary

Vice President, European Financial Controller Overview
The EU Financial Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financials in partnership with the GBSC and providing advisory support to the business teams across a number of areas, including: accounting & controls, deal structures and terms, and M&A.

Role
The Controller is responsible for ensuring that strong controls are in place and are functioning as expected. Additionally, the Controller is expected to foster an environment of continual process improvement. This role will further advance the finance organization as one that continues to evolve to better meet the needs of our business teams.

Responsibilities
• Ensures integrity and accuracy of financials for the Region/BU supported and has primary responsibility for ensuring company compliance with external and Corporate accounting requirements
• Guides financial decisions related to business transactions including acquisitions and investments by providing accounting/regulatory advice and by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
• Provides guidance on highly complex and emerging issues and prepares technical accounting memorandums in response. Consults with Corporate Accounting as appropriate
• Ensures a strong control environment by establishing, monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls based on corporate guidelines and general governance standards. Both support and challenge managers to identify areas where controls can be strengthened
• Leads M&A due diligence and integration from an accounting & control perspective
• Drives continual process improvement agenda
• Ensures ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports and advising management on needed actions
• Manages multiple teams, providing support and guidance and ensuring cohesive teamwork throughout

All about you
• Active Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant or equivalent is a must
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Strong experience in accounting controls and financial processes within a global organization
• Strong general accounting knowledge including US & Local GAAP
• Strong knowledge of Internal Controls and Sarbanes Oxley regulations
• Proficiency with accounting & finance systems/software applications
• Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results
• Strong project management skills
• Strong analytical and financial skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals
• Must be able to integrate knowledge across disciplines
• Demonstrated effective leadership with relationship development skills
• Market and industry knowledge with strong presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability in challenging and improving processes
