Vice President, Marketing & Communication Innovation Programs - Foundry

Overview

Mastercard Foundry is a global innovation group focused on the evolution of technology and consumer trends and the implication of these forces on the payments and commerce industry. Foundry is a collective of interdisciplinary teams powering Mastercard's ability to create and deliver differentiated products, services, and experiences.

Within Foundry, the Innovation Programs team:

• Liaise with internal teams to manage customer engagement for the Foundry and office of the CIO.
• Partner on internal and external events for effective implementation, including sponsorships.
• Oversee our creative teams which focus on thought leadership design and prototype development.
• Support Foundry capabilities to ensure effective utilization across other parts of Mastercard (R&D, Studio, CX)
• Craft targeted communication strategies for innovation research and Foundry portfolio solutions.

The primary remit of this role is to lead a broad range of initiatives that positions Mastercard as an innovator in technology and commerce amongst both traditional and new customer segments. Qualified candidates will be able to answer the following questions:

• Do you have a deep understanding of emerging technologies and trends that are relevant to commerce?
• Can you demonstrate strategic thinking and how that applies to business development activities?
• Can you develop innovative communication materials tailored for emerging technologies and trends?
• Can you work with partners to produce content for various customer segments?

Role

Your responsibilities will include partnering with subject matter experts across the Foundry, MA products and services, communications, marketing, and account leads to develop innovation narratives and critical insights for our audiences to help drive new opportunities for MA.

The right person for this position will demonstrate a high level of creative problem-solving, a strong personal presence, manage change, thrive under pressure, and a focus on execution, details, and organization.

• Coordinate all communications involving the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO), including customer presentations, speaking engagements and public appearances, to ensure alignment with Foundry initiatives and emerging technology trends.
• Manage Chief Innovation Officer's (CIO's) media engagements, curating topics in alignment with strategic objectives.
• Identify and research relevant topics from across Foundry and emerging technology trends for the CIO to address in communications and speaking engagements, enhancing Mastercard's thought leadership positioning.
• Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to promote innovation content successfully.
• Create future-focused narratives to increase Mastercard's visibility as an innovative technology company and strategic partner with key external stakeholders, including analysts, customers, investors, and partners.
• Oversee general Foundry marketing touchpoints, including the development of overview documents, SharePoint pages, and marketing assets to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging.
• Effectively communicate Foundry's priorities, initiatives, and perspectives to executives and customers, crafting customer-facing thought leadership presentations.
• Bring a comprehensive understanding across Foundry innovation focus areas and activities, providing strategic insight into emerging trends and industry dynamics.
• Partner on internal and external events and ensure effective implementation, including sponsorships.
• Provide creative direction for thought leadership publications and prototype development.
• Work closely with product marketing and portfolio teams to ensure alignment of thought leadership content with product strategies and messaging.
• Analyze the performance of thought leadership initiatives and use data-driven insights to optimize future content development and distribution efforts.
• Deep dive into the future business landscape using the lens' of emerging technologies and next-gen trends to develop thoughtful, forward-looking hypotheses on the future of commerce.
• Partner with stakeholders and senior executives to promote awareness of emerging technologies and differentiate Mastercard within the industry.
• Create marketing and communication strategies to showcase thought leadership on the future of commerce, reinforcing Mastercard's industry leadership.

• Significant experience with technology-driven innovation programs, content creation, thought leadership, and strategic communications
• Exceptional visionary, marketing and communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio of writing experience on emerging technologies and trends.
• Demonstrated experience in content marketing, including creating and optimizing content across touchpoints and audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated with a track record of delivering success while operating within a fast-paced team environment.
