The Infection Control Coordinator, under the supervision of the Infection Control Director, is responsible for the ongoing surveillance of infectious diseases present in the hospital and takes appropriate steps to contain and prevent the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in accordance with CDC guidelines and hospital policies. The Coordinator is responsible for:
• Public reporting of hospital acquired infections and notifiable conditions to federal, state, and local Health Authorities as appropriate.
• Providing support to the Infection Control Director with development and implementation of policies and protocols.
• Providing ongoing education to new and existing clinical staff and physicians regarding infection control principles and practices and is a resource for patient care units.

Qualifications• Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, BSN preferred
• Minimum of 3 years healthcare experience.
• Broad knowledge and familiarity with healthcare-related regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of database systems
• Possesses strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• RN with current licensure
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred
