Job Summary:

The Director, Product Development will lead the development of new and existing products in MedMutual Protect's Individual business which are critical to our growth and continued industry leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage one or more of MedMutual Protect's Individual products. Analyze performance of products and execute on recommendations necessary to achieve financial goals.
  • Develop strategic vision and corresponding business plans for assigned product(s).
  • Assist Product VP with sales initiatives and hiring, coaching, and developing employees. 
  • Collaborate with business partners across the organization to justify changes to MedMutual Protect systems, business practices and/or product offerings with sound analysis and logic, forecasting expected growth and profit impacts.
  •  Develop new products and recommend product updates to ensure profitable growth.
  • Lead or participate in company-wide special projects, initiatives or other related work assignments as required/requested.
  • Manage 1-3 direct reports, depending upon product(s) and candidate's qualifications.
  • Analyze competitive information as well as Company and industry data in consultation with Sales, Underwriting, Marketing and other appropriate personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 7 years of Health Insurance experience in Product Management or National Strategy role
  • Bachelor's degree: master's degree preferred.
  • Experience managing initiatives at the company-wide/nationwide level preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Prior management/leadership experience
  • Proven track record of successful product expansion strategy
  • Proven leadership of key levers for the P&L - Sales, retention, product development, marketing, customer experience
  • Organizational skills: both time and task skills are required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze data and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Leadership skills and strong diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Strong computer spreadsheet and database skills
