General Summary of Position
Plays a central role in supporting MMG strategic goals and assisting in executing the MMG operating plan. Ensures the overall effectiveness of the key functions of Human Resources to include staffing, associates relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, etc. for the business units reporting to MedStar Medical Group.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of onboarding programs and processes making modifications as necessary in order to attract and retain quality, equipped and engaged associates.
  • Ensures MMG is in compliance with all applicable labor, equal employment opportunity and employee relations statutes and regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains a supportive and productive working relationships and partnerships with leaders and staff in MMG and other entities to appropriately understand and support their provider needs and objectives. May provide support for the Engagement Committee of the Physician Council and make recommendations to the Committee as requested.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization with management, providers, and associates by functioning as a partner with senior leadership and serving as a workforce champion.
  • Leads the integration efforts in acquisitions and startups including due diligence, recruiting and staffing, associate skill assessment, onboarding, policy and procedure integration, and compensation review in order to ensure effective project management as well as an effective forum for cross functional participation and enthusiasm.
  • Manages associate and provider engagement data gathering mechanisms including the associate and provider opinion and engagement surveys, exit interview data, grievances, etc. in order to identify business changes needed to attract and maintain quality providers and associates and facilitate positive change.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
  • Partners with Director of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Strategy for orientation and onboarding activities to acclimate and integrate providers, and their families, into the MedStar Health System community. Collects ongoing feedback and assess effectiveness to ensure optimal onboarding processes/experiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regularly participates in development of entity-wide plans, goals, and objectives. Interfaces and coordinates activities and decision making with key individuals within MedStar Health as needed. Participates as a strategic partner representing the impact on people and our workforce.
  • Serves as a consultant to other management personnel on specific Human Resource problems and concerns.
  • Works collaboratively with Human Resources Business Partners, to build, maintain, and direct the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated human resources programs addressing employment, training; provider and staff engagement, recognition, retention and organizational communication.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration required or closely related field; required
    • Master's degree preferred
    • Experience

      • 8-10 years Progressively more responsible related work experience in human resources required
      • Licenses and Certifications

        • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI or equivalent preferred
        • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

          • Basic computer skills.
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
