General Summary of Position
We have an opportunity available for a Director, Pharmacy Operations to join the Clinical Pharmacy team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
Serves as the accountable leader for medication preparation, pharmacy automation and distribution systems as well as continual readiness programs in accordance with all federal and state laws relating to the storage, compounding, and distribution of medications, and the provision of pharmacy services. Works collaboratively within the highly integrated, cross-functional, matrix driven pharmacy leadership team and health system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree Graduate training in an accredited College of Pharmacy required
- Doctoral degree PharmD preferred
- Candidates who are graduates of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency program (PGY-1), and/or ASHP-accredited Health System Pharmacy Administration residency program, and/or Master's degree preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years Pharmacy leadership experience required
- 10+ years preferred
- Candidate that can demonstrate progressively more responsible pharmacy experience including two years of experience in staff and operations management
Licenses and Certifications
- PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the District of Columbia required
