General Summary of Position

MedStar Health has an opportunity for a Learning Consultant to help build the future of leadership development for leaders across the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and the Washington, DC region.  This exciting position will give you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our leaders, associates, and the communities we serve and do some the best work of your career as we build our leadership development framework, curriculum and supporting programs.  As a Learning Consultant, you will use your expertise to design and project manage a variety of learning solutions to support strategic business initiatives, drive engagement, and create bench strength. 

MSH Learning is a growing team, and is part of a larger team, called Organizational Effectiveness.  Therefore, you will work with a larger group of HR, Organizational Development, Talent, and Change Management professionals as you partner across the system on large initiatives. 

To be successful in this position, you will have: 
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Adult Learning, Psychology, Human Resources, Change Management, or related field. Advanced Training Certificate, or Master's degree preferred.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience working in corporate setting developing, designing and evaluating management and leadership courses/programs that span multiple levels of leadership from emerging and first-time leaders to senior leaders and executives. Experience in creating competencies and mapping them to curriculum. Experience developing learning programs using ADDIE, SAM, AGILE or other instructional design processes. Experience developing digital content delivered in a learning management system. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with relevant coursework with designing, developing, and implementing instructor led (virtual and in person), as well as development of online modules and other eLearning solutions, and use of tools, such as Storyline, RISE, Snagit, SurveyMonkey, etc. preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and application. Ability to use and learn new multimedia technology and authoring tools. Exceptional skills in public speaking and in-person and remote facilitation. Vendor management. Demonstrated capability in consulting, project management, and program implementation. Strong analytical/problem solving skills. Robust interpersonal skills in both client interactions and team interactions. Must be skilled influencer, relationship builder and natural collaborator. A strategic thinker who can keep the big picture in mind while delivering on the details. 

Some of your primary duties will include:
Consult: Conducts learning and gap analysis, collecting data from key stakeholders, to determine and understand business needs, objectives and/or desired outcomes. Partners with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure that learning solutions enable end user to successfully learn new concepts, processes, products, systems, changes, etc. May review existing internal or vendor content and make recommendations for customizations, changes or upgrades. 

Develop: Designs content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leaders and associate participant materials, storyboards, experiential scenarios and simulations, job aids, assessment and evaluation questions. Fosters continuous improvement and innovation in learning programs, including the review and refresh of curriculum materials, periodically across programs and delivery methods. 

Project Management: Determines, recommends, and documents project instructional standards and strategies, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plan. Partners internally with strategic partners, developers, or externally with vendors as needed to develop,  enhance learning content and launch across multiple entities.  May lead projects, as well as serve as a team member on other projects.
