We are an expanding, fast growing department focused on excellent patient care. Our team provides a mix of experienced technologist with new graduates. Lead Technologist schedules and keeps daily exams on track performing about 100 PET CT exams and 300 Nuclear medicine exams per month. We have a brand new Siemens PET/CT scanner suite. PET/CT cardiac, full body PET, and Therapy planning dedicated PET/CT in oncology department.

Menorah Medical Center, a 155+ bed, acute care hospital located on the corner of 119th and Nall in Overland Park, serves our community's healthcare needs by providing compassionate care and some of the most advanced treatment options available in the Kansas City area. MMC has a comprehensive medical staff with more than 600 physicians who offer exceptional experiences and extraordinary medicine for adults, newborns, children and teens.

What you will do in this role:

Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures. Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician , using scanners, or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic dose of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials. The Nuclear Med Tech in this department provides care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.


Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA program with a certificate or degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology or Ultrasound Technology. Should adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits every two years.

Licensure/Certifications: Must be registered with the ARRT and/or NMTCB or eligible for registry. Must hold a current license with the Kansas board of healing arts. American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.

Experience: Two years experience preferred.
