Overview:

 

Directs and coordinates the technical and administrative activities of assigned laboratory sections. Responsibilities include: Strategic planning, quality improvement activities, financial performance, human resources management, and compliance with all accreditation and regulatory requirements. Responsible for departmental charge development, coding, and other billing activities. Develops and monitors operating, capital, and payroll budgets to assure cost effective stewardship of resources. Assists Laboratory Managers and Supervisors in monitoring/maintaining productivity standards and identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or related science field.
  • Experience: Five years experience in the clinical laboratory, including five years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Certifications: Registered as a Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist by a national certification agency.
  • Other: A) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; B) Able to demonstrate concise, effective verbal and written communication skills; C) Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; D) Displays solid organizational skills, is able to effectively prioritize work, and possesses the flexibility to work with a variety of coworkers; E) Exercises sound judgment and possesses excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills; F) Possesses strong leadership skills and is forward-thinking, creative, and articulate.
