Overview:

 

Pharmacy Operations Coordinator will provide support to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, Pharmacy Directors, and other key leadership. The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator will collaboratively assist with pharmacy programs, while monitoring the Pharmacy Support email and phone inquiries. Any necessary follow-up will be communicated in a timely manner by the Coordinator, while they ensure proper documentation and issue resolution occurs in those areas. Escalation channels will be used when follow-up response fall outside of accepted deadlines. The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator will provide support to their direct supervisor, or other necessary leadership, when prompt action needs to be taken to resolve an issue concerning operations, regulatory, compliance, controlled substances, or patient safety issues. An major issues or concerns will be communicated immediately to their supervisor, Pharmacy Directors, key leadership, and other pertaining departments so that prompt action can be taken to resolve the issue.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensure: Must be registered in good standing with the state of practice as a pharmacy technician. Current Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Experience: 2 or more years in auditing or related experience and/or two or more years of pharmacy or related experience. 2-4 years of Retail Pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Certifications: National Pharmacy Technician Certification is required within 6 months.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • The ability to analyze data and recognize deviations from expected findings,
    • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in daily interactions with coworkers and through written audit reports,
    • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and managers of hospital departments,
    • Proficiency with computer software - particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
    • The ability to work in an organized and detail-oriented manner.
    • Must perform related duties as assigned.
    • Must be inquisitive by nature and possess good problem-solving skills.
    • We prefer knowledge of and experience with basic accounting skills.
    • Prior Pharmacy or healthcare experience with some familiarity with controlled drug laws strongly preferred.
    • Must become familiar with pharmacy related licensing regulations, accreditation standards, and professional practice standards to be effective in this role.
