Overview:

  • Assists department manager(s) with day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinates and supervises co-workers and activities.
  • Acts as an interdepartmental liaison and maintains familiarity with scheduling functions.
  • Assists managers with departmental process improvements.
  • Effectively coordinates changes in the departments.
  • Requires independent thinking, problem-solving abilities and supervisory skills.
  • Requires proactive identification of trends, issues and problems as well as identification of possible solutions.
  • Facilitates all OR cases during the day.
  • This position also staffs in the OR as needed.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy Values.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Two (2) years OR experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Other skills & knowledge: Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminologyAbility to manage a calendar
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with customer service and multi-phone lines
  • Familiarity with computers and other office equipment
