Job Description:

Position Summary

Under the leadership of the department Director and Assistant Director, the Lead Cardiovascular Radiological Technologist (CRT) is proficient in the preparation of the patient for all procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization and EP Laboratories.  The Lead CRT possesses skills and knowledge to perform at a proficient level in the areas of patient monitoring and scrubbing, uses judgement and anticipation of physician needs during diagnostic and interventional procedures with proper documentation of radiology record requirements and radiation safety while maximizing the use of equipment and resources. The Lead CRT interacts in a positive, service-oriented manner with patients, medical staff, and peers.  The Lead CRT is accountable for all radiation related procedures in the department.  Serves as a leader and role model and has oversight of radiation safety requirements and initiatives within the department. The Lead CRT is also responsible for inventory management including ordering, tracking, and maintenance of all supplies.

Must have ability to store and retrieve patient media from the archive system.  Must know department policies and procedures.  Must have the ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians, and the patient population.  Must have ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Must be self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.  Must have ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment.  Must have ability and willingness to actively participate in Cath Lab program improvement and development, education, task forces, and committees. 

Experience

3 year minimum Cath Lab and EP experience with both scrubbing and monitoring.  Will be required to be on-call on a rotating basis.  Position requires critical thinking, sharp assessment skills, quick decision-making ability, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure. 

Education

Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program is required. 

Licensure/Certifications

  • Must have current licensure with the State of California in Fluoroscopy and Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or attends continuing education classes with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) to meet California state licensing requirements.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification is required

0700-1530 with call

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience):

$60.94

to

$81.47

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $4.71

Hourly Night Shift Differential: $7.06
