The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking Medical Directors for its Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Mount Sinai Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist to serve as the Medical Director for the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic located at Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. The Medical Director, who reports to the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, is provided with 25% protected time to complete their administrative and teaching responsibilities. The Medical Director will split time between administrative responsibilities and providing high quality Pediatric Endocrinology care services. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in ensuring excellent patient care, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. In addition, the physician will lead by example, actively participating in patient care, teaching of trainees, and exemplifying teamwork in collaborating with colleagues and staff.

Administrative Responsibilities:
• Lead quality assurance and quality improvement activities for the practice in order to continuously raise the standard of care
• Oversee clinical operations - maintain optimal patient flow and provider access
• Identify clinical staffing needs and assist with recruitment
• Ensure appropriate physician behavior, competence, and fitness for duty
• Address issues related to patient complaints and grievances
• Maintain appropriate risk management
• Develop, implement and monitor protocols, processes and metrics to meet goals of the practice and health system

Position Description:
• Schedule regular meetings with physicians in the practice to address clinical performance
• Provide medical care in high-functioning outpatient environment
• Provide consultations for urgent care, emergency room, and inpatient patients
• Consultations do not have admitting responsibilities
• On-call duties would include supervision of fellows
• Collaborate with multi-specialty practice colleagues as an integral part of a world-class health system

• Compensation range from 215K to 230K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Position Qualifications:
• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Certified in Pediatric Endocrinology
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, especially in the focus areas of type 1 diabetes and thyroid disorders.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
