Job Description:

Nextracker's Finance Director, Global Assistant Controller position will collaborate with the entire finance organization to supervise the staff and help bring innovative changes to streamline global finance functions. This permanent employment opportunity is based in Fremont, California. Here are some additional details:

General responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the function, coordinating activities and managing direct and indirect reports to achieve the goals and initiatives needed to ensure success including, but not limited to, the following areas:
    • Closing process (timely, accurate, efficient). Month end closing, financial statement consolidation and reporting in NetSuite,
    • Manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on-time.
    • Responsible for preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (B/S, P&L and Cash Flow) on time. Also, analyzing fluctuations, reviewing ledger accounts, investigating unusual entries, and providing commentary.
    • Responsible for accurate and timely preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows). Completion of Flux Analysis for  and review ofgeneral ledger accounts, individual and consolidated financial statements.
    • Collaborates with external public accounting team and global offices to comply with local statutory and US GAAP accounting requirements and standards.
    • Meet all reporting and compliance requirements.
    • Streamline, maintain, and improve processes and internal controls (SOX).
    • Multi-currency reporting
    • GAAP to non-GAAP reconciliations of global subsidiaries.
  • Oversees the general accounting, AP, AR, cost accounting functions.
  • Identifyies and implements opportunities for improved effectiveness, efficiencies, and controls.
  • Work closely with global Financial Controller and execute on important on-going accounting activities and conclusion of new process implementations related to global subsidiaries management, training, set up of processes and procedures once handled and managed by parent company.
  • Develop and implement written financial policies and procedures.
  • Implement best practices for financial management, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support Operations, Sales, and other cross functions on review of contracts, new product offerings.
  • Support growth and expansion, new markets entry – creation of new subsidiaries, statutory accounting requirements and compliance.
  • Internal and external audits coordination and execution. Internal audits (SOX) and external audits (substantive audits). Quarterly and annual audits scope of public companies.
  • Support to technical accounting team on preparation of 10Q and 10K.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or related field.
  • ~15 years of experience with public accounting. Big 4 public accounting and operation experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance
  • Global operations, consolidation and reporting.
  • Specifics to our company, and knowledge on these areas are a plus:
    • Construction / renewables / energy industry business.
    • Contract management / percentage of completion and software offerings revenue recognition.
    • Experience working with NetSuite ERP system; Proficient in MS Excel and have in-depth knowledge in complex functions/data analysis using tools such as V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, etc. NetSuite

Leadership

  • Effective communicator with ability to develop and explain dynamic reports and analysis.
  • Process and goal oriented professional.
  • Extremely well-organized, data driven and comfortable managing multiple projects/stake holders.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with business partners/department heads/coworkers as trusted and objective advisor.
  • Conduct 1x1 sessions on a weekly basis and excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Follow up on multitude of projects being executed by different groups of our organization, and different locations in the globe.
  • Perform mid-year and annual reviews.
  • Lead, recruit and develop talent to create world class accounting function.

Salary Range - $170,000-$200,000
