Job Description:

The Project Accountant Analyst, located in Hyderabad  will be Responsible for all activities that correlates the project revenue with Finance: accounting, project reconciliation, invoicing, AR control (aging) and meetings with operations and sales. Ensures accuracy of the project balances, understands the business of the customer, understands about construction contracts, works closely with Global Business Services in Mexico, Project Managers and Sales Analysts in a timely manner to understand project status, aged items, change orders, etc. This role will report to the Assistant Controller.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Conducts projects reconciliation after conclusion of each project, or as needed. Project reconciliations consist of:
    • Detailed GL review, analyzing all the accounts that impacted by the project transactions: balance sheet and income statement accounts.
    • Ad hoc reviews of sales tax with sales operations team and corporate tax team.
    • Ensures accuracy of revenue, including the amount recognized and the timing based upon corporate policies and US GAAP.
    • Review GBS revenue recognition invoicing and cash application.
  • Manages multiple projects and escalate to management any past due or problematic balances.
  • Reviews project contracts to understand key points associated to invoicing and revenue.
  • Manages the entire customer invoicing process; Issue all customer invoices, including deposit and retention invoices, based upon appropriate data from the Project Manager or Sales Analyst. 
  • Ensures all change orders are properly recorded.
  • Responsible for project follow up along with Project Managers (milestones, aged invoices, unbilled amounts).
  • Coordinates with Legal that all lien waivers are appropriate and are issued on a timely basis.

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Requires a minimum of 2 years of finance/accounting experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, e.g.: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, extracting and adjusting general ledger reports from system.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and frequently used reports: such as aging reports, general ledgers, payment reports, income statements, balance sheet, and cash flows.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
