Description

At NorthBay Health the Systems Analyst, Medication Process is responsible for the overall support and development of the medication applications used by the customers of Information Systems.  The applications supported by this position may include but are not limited to computer and technology functions (i.e Omnicell®, Pharmogistic®, KitCheck®, Codonics®, Cerner®). The System Analyst works closely with the departmental support staff for the all systems. The System Analyst 1) principally interacts with the system customers but also understands the role of the system and these stakeholders as they relate to the general organizational environment  2) acts as a liaison between system customers, the pharmacy department, vendors, and the Information Systems Department, and 3) is responsible for system implementations (including conversions and upgrades), system and database administration, functionality and workflow analysis, testing, training, security, some programming changes and documentation. 

Secondary responsibilities include pharmacy inventory control, with regards to adding to databases, technician and pharmacy training, maintaining and testing pharmacy computer systems, assists with payroll and related processes, may enter data into the payroll system as assigned, assist revenue cycle, and corrects billing errors.



Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree or 8 years of experience in hospital pharmacy IS healthcare field
  2. Licensure: California Board of Pharmacy technician registration and Pharmacy Technician CPhT national certification or national certification complete within 6 months from the hire date.
  3. Experience:  Minimum (3) three years in healthcare environment with systems analysis experience and limited programming skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Familiarity with Access® database preferred. 
  4. Skills:  Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Project management skills related to implementing healthcare systems preferred.
  5.   6. Hours of Work: Normally works eight-hour day.  Hours will vary according to work demands and project requirements; may require on-call support.

 

Compensation: 

Hourly pay range MIN $50.03 - $57.98 ( offer based on years of direct experience)
