Position: Highway Construction Instructor

Reports to: CTT Manager

Our government-funded, no-cost education and vocational training program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, aims to empower socioeconomically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24. We provide them with the tools they need to succeed in both their careers and personal lives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in highway construction, aligned with Job Corps requirements and program specifications
  • Foster a positive and motivating classroom environment to maximize student learning and achievement
  • Counsel and mentor students on behavior, training, and personal development
  • Individualize curriculum to meet students' vocational choices and maintain communication with vocational counselors and instructors
  • Ensure classroom and equipment maintenance and security measures are upheld
  • Prepare reports and evaluations, attend staff training sessions, and adhere to quality assurance standards

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Certification, licensure, or accreditation in the relevant subject area
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Fluency in English with the ability to transfer knowledge effectively
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering an inclusive learning environment
  • Proficiency in operating household appliances and driving automobiles
