Position: Highway Construction Instructor
Location: 7175 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa 15206
Reports to: CTT Manager

Our government-funded, no-cost education and vocational training program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, aims to empower socioeconomically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24. We provide them with the tools they need to succeed in both their careers and personal lives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction in highway construction, aligned with Job Corps requirements and program specifications
- Foster a positive and motivating classroom environment to maximize student learning and achievement
- Counsel and mentor students on behavior, training, and personal development
- Individualize curriculum to meet students' vocational choices and maintain communication with vocational counselors and instructors
- Ensure classroom and equipment maintenance and security measures are upheld
- Prepare reports and evaluations, attend staff training sessions, and adhere to quality assurance standards
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Certification, licensure, or accreditation in the relevant subject area
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Fluency in English with the ability to transfer knowledge effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Proficiency in operating household appliances and driving automobiles
