Summary:

This position is responsible for carrying out the national priorities of the Oneida Nation as it pertains to Oneida Child Care. Supervise the childcare administrative staff at two locations. Manage the systems, policy, program practices, professional sanctions, planning and financial aspects of the childcare department infrastructure as it relates to the administrative staff, families, and licensed operator. 


Responsibilities:

* Supervise Childcare Administrative Staff to include, interviewing, hiring scheduling, discipline, performance evaluations and updating and ensuring compliance of Departmental Standard Operating Procedures
* Develop and periodically conduct programming reviews to project future needs of the program
* Maintain and manage Program Budgets
* Maintain and manage Childcare wait lists
* Maintain and manage parent billing-client accounts
* Develop childcare orientation and other training for administrative staff. Ensure training is done on a bi-annual basis
* Schedule, facilitate and coordinate weekly staff meetings
* Revise, update and ensure parents and staff are informed of changes in parent policies and procedures
* Represent the department at Tribal, County, State, and Federal levels
* Develop and prepare monthly reports in a timely manner as required by the Area Manager or Governmental Services Division Director
* Develop and maintain Program budgets according to tribal accounting standards as required. Work with program accountant to maintain all childcare budgets. Keeps budgets up to date and submit reports in a timely manner
* Coordinate with Center for Self Sufficiency a Memorandum of Understanding for joint cooperation on Block Grant funding
* Coordinate with Grant Office and other external sources to enhance tribal funding
* Provide training and ensure staff practices excellent internal and external customer relations skills
* Provide and maintain a safe and nurturing childcare environment by ensuring the program follows applicable procedures, conduct audits, follow developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson planning
* Oversee food program including reviewing menus and creating reports
* Ensure rooms have appropriate child-teacher ratios
* Fill in for any subordinate positions under their direct supervision
* Prepare and continue to maintain quality childcare environment for parents and children
* Review and interpret government codes and develop procedures to meet code to ensure facility safety, security and maintenance
* Review and evaluate new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local and federal regulation and recommends any necessary modifications
* Build outcome's planning into program indicatives as required
* Utilize the forty (40) development assets in all program planning
* Develop short and long-range strategies as required
* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and co-workers needs courteously and promptly.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

* Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
* A Combination of Experience and Education May Be Considered

* Child Abuse Reporting Policy (CARP) (Hrd), obtain within ninety (90) days of employment

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
